December 31, 2009 Leave a comment

So we are coming to the end of 2010. I am working through new years resolutions, a business plan that will help 2010 fit into the larger scale of the next 5 years, personal goals, etc.

Not for inspiration, or ideas to copy, but merely out of curiosity, I want to see what other people are thinking. Either RT this message (on twitter), comment on the Facebook status that you found this message on, or leave a comment below. Thanks!

Have a great 2010!

A New Years Resolution That Is More Feared than Death:

December 22, 2009 Leave a comment

That’s right. What is the one thing that people fear more than death itself?

Public Speaking.

That’s why I think it’s so important that people step over the ledge, or out of the box, and into a place that is new and uncomfortable for them….at first.

My referral today is to check out Toastmasters International. Today I say, that any and all who read this should AT LEAST visit a toastmasters club near you just to see what a meeting is like. You can visit as a guest several times at any given club and you can learn all about how the meetings work. I think it’s one of the best things you can commit to for yourself, just like eating healthier, as a new years resolution.

Toastmasters will take you from shy, and timid about speaking to a group, to speaking abilities you never thought you would have! To make it EVEN better, you’ll gain a ton of leadership abilities by participating in meetings as helpers, and all the various roles you can occupy.

You can be as involved as you choose, and it’s just great to learn from your own speaking, as well as the speaking of others.
